·GGDZ series lighting saver structure and work principle The GGDZ series lighting saver is composed by the compensation transformer, the regulating transformer, the non-contact control patent technology (or stepless voltage control technology), the sampling electric circuit, the master control electric circuit, the voltage regulate circuit, time control circuit, the protection circuit and so on. ·GGDZ series lighting energy saver
I. GGDZ series lighting energy saver structure and principle GGDZ series lighting energy saver (refers to GGDZ LESC) is consist of compensation transformer, adjust transformer, voltage adjust actuating system, control circuit, time control circuit, protection circuit and so on.
GGDZ lighting energy saver system block diagram
GGDZ LESC work principle: when load is connected to the supply output, sampling circuit react immediately to get the output voltage. The servo system is determined by the value of the (Vout-Vref). It drives the voltage adjust actuating system to move up and down on the top of the columnar adjust transformer. The compensation provides compensated voltage to return the Vout to its normal value.

IV. GGDZ LESC installation and debug
Basis dimension diagram(mm)
If it is set outdoor, concrete basis is needed. Calculate holes position according to “Basis dimension diagram”. 4 pieces of 10mm screws are required to be planted with 50mm outside basis top.
1.Open packing and inspection (1)Whether the cabinet is received in good condition or not (2)Whether the accessories are well-appointed or not (3)Whether the compensation transformer, adjust transformer and other parts whether they are received in good condition or not (4)Whether the fix parts are loosen, moved and connection between each terminal are well connected or not (5)Whether the voltage adjust system, actual system are reliable or not. If the carbon brush is broken, it should be replaced. Note: When the equipment is received, make sure don’t put it in wet environment for long time.
2.Installation notice (1) Handle with care, extremely incline is forbidden. The equipment should be placed on flat basic. (2) There should be enough space where it is set to provide good air circulation
3.Insulation (1)Short circuit “input terminal” and “output terminal”, to get a test point. (2)Test the insulation resistance from the test point to ground with DC 1000 megohm, the value must be larger than 2MΩ.
4.Wiring check (1) Check the main circuit. If wiring to circuit contactor becomes flexible, screw down it. (2) Check every parts on the panel back face, such as current meter, indicator button, switch, if connection point becomes flexible, screw down.. (3) Check control PCB, if wiring to it becomes flexible, screw down (4).Check servo mechanism on the adjust transformer, if limit switch becomes flexible, screw down.
5.Install and wire (1) 100KVA under savor cabinet: Lead three input lines through back bottom of the cabinet, to three terminals marked input “A,B,C”. (2) 100KVA under savor cabinet: Lead three input lines to three top terminals of air switch . (3) Cabinet protection earthed: earth wire should be connected to terminal marked “earth”. Earth wire resistance should be smaller than 4Ω
V. GGDZ LESC set and operation (I) Chief operation 1. Manual switch on
Turn SB3 to “Manual switch on”, SB4 to “Energy save mode”, set time control unit KT3 to “open” (screen displays “ON”)

Move city power to LESC, switch on air switch Q1, press start button SB1 10 seconds later. Then output circuit contact KM1 closed, LESC supply output. Indicators A, B and C on panel are light, and “Energy save mode” indicator is light too.
2.Time control start Turn SB3 on panel to “switch on Automatically”, SB4 to “Energy save mode”, set time control unit KT3 start time. Move city power to LESC, switch on air switch Q1, press start button SB1 10 seconds later. Then output circuit contact KM1 closed, LESC supply output. Indicators A, B and C on panel are light, and “Energy save mode” indicator is light too.
3.Stop equipment When LESC is using, press stop button SB2 on panel, circuit contact open, LESC cut off
4.Manual by-pass When LESC is in working state or stop state (time control unit KT3 is “ON”), press SB4 on panel to “By-pass”, then city power will go through to load by-pass.
5.Protection circuit (1)Over-voltage and under-voltage protection If one phase happens to over-voltage or under-voltage, circuit contact KM1 open ,circuit contact KM2 close, then city power go directly to load through by-pass. Protection indicator and by-pass indicator turn on. “Energy save” indicator turn off. (2) Over load and short circuit protection When over loaded, over load protection relay works, circuit contact KM1 opens, circuit contact KM2 closes, city power go through by-pass to load. Short circuit function is executed by air switch Q1.
(II)Time controller operation and setting After installation, turn “Automatic switch on/manual switch on” switch to “manual switch on”. Move input power to LESC, switch on the air switch in cabinet. Latitude time controller controls the on or off the output voltage. Time controller KT1 associate with KT2 controls each detail time of step voltage. The fallowing table shows every voltage step and indicators state.

Check:Press(P)button to check if time setting is correct. Manual control:Press(MANUAL)button, realize the intended on/off If it is vacant in 30 seconds, time controller will return to time display, then enter to set according to procedures referred in the above table.
2.KT1、KT2 setting
KT1 and KT2 is 24 hour mode. If 12 hour mode is needed, press “Clock” button and hold for 5 seconds, it displays AM in top left corner. It indicates 12 hour mode. Re-press 5 seconds, it returns to 24 hour mode, AM icon disappeared. (When in 12 hour mode, AM indicates a.m., PM indicates p.m.)
Time controller KT1、KT2 panel
(1)Set first step voltage and second step voltage on/off time. Setting points KT1 is used to set “first step voltage” on/off time. KT2is used to set “second step voltage” on/off time. If turn “first step voltage” to “second step voltage”, KT1 is supposed to set“ON”. If turn “second step voltage” to “first step voltage”, KT1 and KT2 is supposed to set “OFF”. If rated output voltage is required, both KT1 and KT2 are supposed to set “OFF”. KT1 and KT2 can set 4 groups on/off time.

Note: ·On/off time set should be set in order. It’s can’t be set in cross order. ·To control according to set time, time controller status is supposed to set on automatic mode. Viz. ON AT or At OFF. ·Reset button will clean all set data, please don’t use it at will.
3.Idle test After finishing setting time control unit, start LESC idle by manual (refer to manual switch on), test LESC idle. Then test “manual by-pass” function.
4.Load test After finishing setting time control unit and idle test, remove city power from LECS, connect load to supply output, then start LESC by manual. At this moment, current meter displays each phase. Their value should within rated current. Observe for 20 minutes, then check whether there’s any smell from transformer. It’s temperature rise supposed to <80℃. Observe other limit performance and adjust system action. If there’s no abnormality, it means LESC works normally.
5.Notice (1) No chemistry precipitate and dirt, no harmful corrosive medium and the flammable explosive gas where LESC is put. (2)Over-load use for long time is not permitted. (3)When used normally, if the air switch tripped, it means over-load or short circuit. Malfunction should be fixed before re-switch on air switch. Otherwise, LESC will be awfully damaged. (4) If abnormal smell and smoke is found, switch off the city power immediately, then send specialist for repair (5)Users are recommended to install an air switch to input power to LESC. It will be advantageous for maintenance. (6)LESC must be wired with neutral line.
VI.GGDZ LESC daily maintenance Check LESC in fix time. Measure transformer temperature rise whether they are normal or not. Whether load exceeds dated range. Whether voltage adjust system is normal or not. Whether carbon brushes become flexible or not. Whether they are on same level and they are well contacted. Any abnormality is not permitted. Once found, it should be fixed in time. If there’s still any question, please don’t be hesitated to get in touch with manufacture. Monthly maintenance is recommended. Maintenance item: 1.Clean dusty inside cabinet。 2.Check electrical parts whether there’s damaged or not. If there’s damaged, replace it in time. 3.Whether voltage adjust system works normally. Replace awfully worn carbon brushes. Dry adjust transformer coil with tetreoxide and cotton. If there’s any burnt point, polish it with size 0 sand paper in time. 4.Make detail maintenance recorder.
